About Me

I started Beyond Nurse while in Grad school.

I have a Doctorate in Nursing, and I specialize in Adult Primary Care and Rheumatology. Before becoming a doctor, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree and practiced as a nurse for 8+ years specializing in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. My heart was always in preventative care and Internal Medicine. So, I went back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner.

While immersed in my last year, I decided that this blog project could not wait. I knew people were seeking answers to topics I knew about, so I created this blog.

I discovered blogging is a way to engage with people (and let off some steam).

My days were monotonous, bouncing between lectures, studying, eating, writing papers, sleeping, and my primary care rotation; it felt good to write about something that is not graded!

I love pathophysiology and technology. I can geek out about different diseases and have been an educator and adjunct instructor for a few years.

I am here to provide information to keep you healthy, informed, and entertained.

Learning, teaching, and sharing experiences are essential values for me. Improving health, promoting wellness, and addressing mental health across the lifespan is my passion.

I look forward to posting these blogs and I hope you find them helpful!
